On the chance you miss a day (it happens), don’t get discouraged, do 2 practices the next day and make up what you missed. You can create a sadhana that works for you, to meet you where you are in life! It can just be a 5 minute breath meditation!!

What qualifies as ‘Practice’ for the day?

Anything that is considered in the realm if of yoga! We teach from a tantrik hatha yoga perspective and this includes movement, breath, visualisation, meditation, mantra (sound/chanting).

It may be that you have a regular routine of practice that you already do a few times a week. You can always fill the other days with other shorter practices. It could be that you do 3 asana classes a week, and 5 mins of pranayama (breathwork) other days. it might be an hour long asana (postures) class once a week and a 30 minute mantra (chanting) practice the rest. It might be a 10 minute mindful meditation daily or a combination of all of the above.

Figure out what works for your schedule and commit to your routine. When you commit to your practice, show up with intention and conscious dedication and you’re doing your yoga and that’s what counts!

We encourage you to step into a new style of practice and explore yoga in a way that you don’t normally. For example, you are used to doing asana (poses), then we invite you to try adding in pranayama or meditation. Try something new and see where it takes you!

Some helpful tips for success!

  1. Set yourself an intention for the sadhana using positive and present tense language like it’s already happened. You might then repeat this intention for the duration of your challenge. This sankalpa shakti (power of your intention) will help guide you back to your mat each day and back to your deeper purpose and truth, especially when things feel difficult.

  2. Try to do your practice at the same time every day, or cultivate a weekly routine that will fit into your schedule

  3. Trying a morning practice? Set your alarm, put your alarm and you clothes on the other side of your room so you actually GET UP, the hard part is over! Get dressed, and go to class or jump on your mat

  4. Use the Community Chat Group for support and accountability. Here’s the thing, we are farrrrr more successful when we have an accountability buddy. If we show up and say we’re going to do something, we get to be held (kindly and compassionately) accountable for our actions and are far more likely to succeed. An invested community helps raise the overall vibration and helps us all to feel the benefits.

  5. If you happen to miss a day, so be it, do 2 practices the next day and make up for it! You’re never alone and always supported.

  6. Have fun with it!!
